The Maine
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009I received a call from Fearless Records saying they need The Maine shot in London, but stateside. Here’s what we came up with…
Every Avenue

Contingency plans are great to have for celeb shoots. You never know where a curveball may present itself so keeping a level head and quick thinking can thwart a disaster before it starts. Case in point, the call time for my shoot with Every Avenue was set for noon but the band didn’t make it to the designated location until 2pm. Not their fault, things just happen when you are driving 8+ hours to your destination. Keep in mind the band is on tour, stopping through, squeezing in a quick shoot before having to play again that same night. Our original idea was to do an epic beach shot but that was quickly scrapped because they needed to make it to House of Blues in time for a show. Contingency plan, use our secondary location to make what time we had work in our favor. We secured a beach volleyball court and banged out their summer fun promo photos.

Entertainment Hit List
Friday, February 6th, 2009

I get a lot of enjoyment working with people in the entertainment industry. Be it celebs, bands or even the people behind the scenes, the energy is awesome. When a label calls I welcome the challenge of producing something that will fit that particular performers style. One thing to keep in the back of your mind, especially when you deal with music makers, they aren’t as easy to shoot as say an actor/actress. Pulling out a performance from them is all about developing chemistry and making sure they trust you enough to let their guard down. Music can tell such a story so my approach to music photography is to do the same. I think the best way to honor an artists musical vision is to give them a cohesive story all their own.
